Three new themes: Nessie, Sunday Candy and Grayscale. — All the texts of all my themes are now easier to read. All my screenshots got redesigned.
I had to remove them due to a trademark complaint submitted by Microsoft (the owners of GitHub) on June 18, 2026. The affected themes were GitHub Dark Mode, GitHub Dark Mode Dimmed, GitHub Dark Mode High Contrast, and GitHub Copilot.
I am very sorry about this situation, especially for the more than 9,000 users who used these themes. For operational reasons, these themes will not be made available again, even under different names.
What will happen to the other themes inspired by other products (Firefox, Proton Pass, Metro)?
They will continue to work normally. The other themes are not affected by this action and will remain available as usual.
The color change was made directly by Google, not by an adjustment to the themes.
Keeping the address bar and toolbar the same color was one of the defining characteristics of my themes. However, a Google Chrome update released in early 2026 began automatically assigning a color to the address bar—usually a lighter one—in order to enforce contrast.
There are currently reports about this issue, but it is still unclear whether this is an intentional design decision by Google or a browser bug. At the moment, there is no technical workaround to correct it, so any fix depends entirely on Google releasing an update that addresses the issue, and such an update may never come.
